Declaration on Nordic language policy (2006)
The Declaration on Nordic Language Policy was adopted by the Nordic Ministers of Education and Research in 2006.
The background for the declaration was the need for a new Nordic language policy. The purpose of the declaration is to ensure integrity and coherence in the Nordic Council of Ministers’ language initiatives. The declaration is not legally binding.
The countries report on the follow-up of the declaration every two years during the Nordic Council’s session ( 2009 , 2011 , 2013 , 2015 and so on).
